The Libby-Tozier Elementary School serves grades K through 3. Presently each classroom is equipped with at least one desktop PC. The library has 3 desktop PC's and the school shares a new mobile laptop cart with printer. The mobile laptop cart has 20 laptops for student use. In addition we have 2 mobile carts with a PC, LCD projector and a Mimio Interactive Whiteboard available for classroom use.

Some of our favorite technology resources K-3:

Encarta Kids - an electronic encyclopedia from Microsoft

Clicker 5 - Clicker is a writing-support tool for any subject area. Build sentences by selecting words, phrases and pictures; hear words spoken by realistic software speech before you write; and hear completed sentences spoken back to you!

Starfall - A free website to teach children to read. Perfect for kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. Contains exciting interactive books and phonics games.

The Carrie Ricker Middle School serves grades 4 through 8. Every classroom is outfitted with at least one desktop PC and we have a PC lab equipped with 25 HP desktops. Additionally we have Mimio Interactive whiteboards with LCD projectors on carts for classroom use.

We are pleased to participate in the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI). Every 7th and 8th grade student gets to use an Apple iBook G4 laptop which is provided by the Maine Department of Education. Grade 6 students have access to 25 Apple iBook G3's. As part of the MLTI program all 7th and 8th grade students have a Studywiz account. Which provides students with an eLocker for back-up off site server file storage.

"Today’s generation of students are digital learners who consider technology central to daily life. The challenge for educators is to engage students in new ways of learning. Studywiz is a powerful learning solution that connects technology with education to enhance teaching and learning for all learning communities".
